Hello every one ive been to the lfs and i ended with with a new catfish i couldnt tell you much about him but he is lovely and could do with some help telling me what catfish he is as i never seen one befor and ive been told he will get big could any one tell me what he is please meny thanks russell

Looks like an iridescent shark to me. Also known as a pangasius catfish.

If I remember correctly they get HUGE.

^^^ all of this! The Tennessee aquarium hAs a school of them in their monster tank an every single one of them is easily over 2ft, maybe pushing over 3ft even. A meter is their max size

It's a fish that shouldn't even be sold in this hobby because of its sheer size.

Yer thats the one 100% and yes the woman told me he would get big but i didnt think it woukd get that big and thanks people and i have one more thing to ask about him if you look at the first photo tou can see his mouth looks to be like a bubble is that how he is ment to be im only asking as ive never seem a fish like this and he cought my eye and i liked him

It's too blurry for me to see anything.

I'd suggest finding him a new home as cg mentioned they get huge.

Maybe the petshop will take him back if you're lucky, and if they're nice. If not, do you have any friends with very large tanks?

His mouth looks normal from what I can see. No joke, this guy needs to go back to the pet store. Look up iridescent shark in kids pool on YouTube. The video I'm referring to shows 3 2 foot iridescent sharks in a 6 ft round x 2 ft tall kids pool. They get massive and pretty fast.
