Fish injury/disease? Help

Hey so I got this gourami about 3 weeks ago, today I noticed this growth of sorts on his head. He tends to hide a lot so I haven't seen him in a few days and im not sure when this happened. Does anyone know what this is and if I should be doing anything to help him heal?

It looks like it might be H. Septicemia virus. No cure but not necessarily fatal. Good nutrition and pristine water is your best bet for recovery. A symptom of that particular virus is red bloody looking patches on the body and fins. Be sure to research.
