Jewel's are great fish! Just be ready for tons of babies, you can tell wen they are breeding because tey turn bright red!

In my experience with jewels the parents go a pretty good job at protecting their eggs. Usually you'll get a couple survivors in a tank with other fish. The jewels have also been known to eat a baby or two! Haha

Yes there is a chance that they will annihilate the other fish in the tank, they tend to be quite aggressive when spawning and brooding.
