Fluval 406 or Eheim 2217 ??

Both are good. It's basically your preference, ford vs Chevy.

Lol Ford vs Chevy.

Why does aqadvisor rate Eheim so high? It rates Eheim 2217 double the strength if Fluval 406.

Ya I have been wondering the same thing!! I have a 55 gallon planted tank with co2 and want to know what canister filter to buy? What would you guys recommend?

I love my 406. And the 205. And the 306. As the other threads point out, it's pretty much personal preference. But I love my Fluvals. Ask 100 people and you'll get 48 for each and the remaining 4 will have no clue.

It might be due to the media capacity. The 406 has baskets which would limit the amount of media; the eheim only uses sponges to separate the media.
