Hello, I've had a white calvus for awhile and am wondering what the best food is to get him to grow. He's in with my African cichlids in a 40G. I've read that NLS Finicky 1mm pellets are good. Any thoughts?

Calvus are very slow growing fish. Even as fry they take a long time to grow out.

I have gold head comps which are very similar and feed them frozen mysis and brine shrimp.

Hard pellets are known to damage/deform the roof of the calvus's mouth. Something to keep in mind.

I feed mine 1mm Cichlid formula nls. Mine is about 1.5" and takes them no problem. I also feed frozen brine but not that often. You will need some type of pellet or flake. It's hard to maintain a healthy diet on just frozen food
