Found a pleco

So when I went to the beach earlier today I found a dead pleco of some sort washed up on the beach. I was just wondering if Lake Erie contains any type of plecos/ sucker fish of any kind or could it just be that someone didn't want it anymore so they dumped it in the lake?

Possibly....I have seen gouramis dumped into our local rivers here as well as goldfish. I wouldn't be surprised if more than a few plecos weren't dumped as well.
