Freshwater barracuda

Simple question how many different kinds of freshwater barracudas are there. There's one at my LFS and I really want it.

It's also known as rocket gar, or hujeta gar, they do well in schools. That the extent of my knowledge right now.

That's not the fish unfortunately the fish at my LFS has a bright red tail is sort of short looks nothing like a far it looks similar to an arrowana with the mouth has big eyes and the mouth you can clearly see teeth I hope the description helped ill get a picture ASAP

I have stocked red tailed barracuda (Acestrorhyncus falcatus last year.... incredibly fast when trying to net them!

There are several species, but I haven't seen any others offered by our suppliers so far.

The red tails will get to no more than about 11 inches, so not too bad

Now I know they need a 70 gallon at least but would you think it'd do good in a 55 if its arms length deep and about a foot and half wide
