freshwater decorations

I purchased a decoration for my Freshwater aquarium from my lfs last Saturday....So today was my wc day...as I was moving the décor it felt just a little slimy...is that normal..my others didn't feel like that and of course I have had them in for 2 years now...aquarium has been established for 4 yrs...I did rinse the new décor before putting into the aquarium..

Could it of been just bio-film? I assume it was fine going into tank.

My understanding is that biofilm is a good thing. If it really bugs you, swish it in tank water that you've removed from your tank. Never swish filter media or tank decorations in tap water unless removing the BBs won't hurt anything.
