Hehe thats fun. My favorite thing I've done in school to date was to get a sample of pond water to monitor the changes in it over a period of time versus a sample that had salt added to it. Was fun to watch all the nasty bugs and life forms in it

Wait a minute... Is that actually bacteria or some kind of microscopic worm? I don't think bacteria bite and tear at things like that.

Its a protist of some sort.

Even at 100 magnification bacteria appears as small dots and generally has to be stained to visualize it.
