Fruit Tetras?

I saw some "assorted Fruit Tetras" at a LFS today, that, other than a tank of good looking Gouramis, gets a low rating.

Anyways, I was wondering what these are. Are they a color morph? Dyed? Insanely rare?

I think they are dyed. please do not buy dyed or painted fish.

ok, thats what I thought.

They aren't insanely rare. Quite common actually. Most of the chain stores carry them. I can tell you from experience though that they aren't very dependable, and yes, they are dyed. The color also fades after time.
