Remove them, unless you want more snails.

Yeah, they harden up and can be scraped off very easily with a credit card or something in one neat little package. Unless you want more snails, then just let them be. They will hatch within 2-3 weeks.

any idea how many snails i'll get from this? i lost one snail the other day, so having more seems fine to me, unless i'm going to get 100's of them....

Eventually you will get hundreds. They are ways to keep the population down. Make sure their is minimal nutrients in the tank (vacuuming weekly helps).
