I'm going to get new tank and GBR's but I was wondering what is the minimum tank for one?

At least a 20 gal. As well, they require a mature tank and pristine water conditions and do not fair well with parameter fluctuations at all.

How many gallons are needed for male and female

The larger the tank the bettor off they will be as they absolutely require pristine water conditions. The smaller the tank, the harder it is to keep stable. A mature tank of at least 6 months AFTER the cycling has completed is best.

Rams are extremely sensitive, they require a mature, heavily planted tank to thrive. A fine grain substrate is preferred as well. Choosing quality stock is also key. I would only purchase from local breeders or speciality lfs.
