Going out of town for a few days. Scheduled power outs are happening. When the power goes out my filter (aquaclear 50) doesn't restart. Motor gets hot, of course, because it just sits there not turning. My question is, can I get away with unplugging it for a day or two. I have a power head and a few airstones so there will still be movement, just no filtration.

You should be ok. Why does it not start? Have you clean the impaler housing? I have four and they all start fine.
