My gf has a ten gal tank, planted, gravel substrate, filtered of course. Has 3 phantom tetras, been in there for a full month, had a beta. Removes because of obvious aggression, 1 snail.

We added 2 gold barbs yesterday. Today we added 3 cobra guppies! And decided that should be max for the tank.

Everyone gets along fine! Except we noticed the gold barbs are spending a ton of time on one side of the aquarium at the wall.

Still very active! Just at the wall a lot..

Any reason to worry? I thought maybe reflection?? But it only happened after we added the guppies. (All fish are juveniles)

Gold barbs should be in schools of at least 6, which a 10-gallon will not support, let alone with other fish in the tank. They're acting odd because they're probably still getting used to its new environment (assuming your water parameters are okay).

I would take them back and get three more phantom tetras, for a total of six.

Just my .02.
