golden balloon body ram died

so i added two golden balloon body to my tank. 5 days later one lost all color and died. other seems fine. ammonia is 0, nitrites 0, nitrate on Sat was less than 5 ppm. but did the weekly water change. any ideas what happened? want to get replacement, but want to know what happened first.

Seems like I read that the goldens are even more sensative than the blues. Good luck getting one to live!

Rams are notoriously sensitive and are known to sometimes drop dead in pristine water. Your water quality sounds good, so assuming you have a proper sized tank and tank mates, it was likely an issue of bad stock IMO.
Just to be safe, you should also rule out temperature fluctuations, any sort of contaminant, and acclimation.

thanks. tank is 37 gallon. have (in addition to the now one ram) 7 zebra danio, 4 platyies and one pleco
