goldfish

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!

One of my customers is heavily into pond goldfish, he tells me that most common (comet) goldfish on the market are (purposely) female... he has been checking my inventory whenever I get large rescued goldfish in hopes of getting a male- He tells me that there are scale plates on the face of the male that distinguish it from the females... who knows? I'll check with some of my vendor warehouses and see if they have the real scoop (since its Friday, I can't get 'hold of anyone until Monday morning).

Did a little reading and found an article that has some depth and may help you out... I cross-referenced a few sources and this appears to be accurate.
