Goldfish advice needed.

I have a new 55g tank with fresh water. What do i need to do to treat and prepare the water so it isnt harmful for the fish.

get some prime made by seachem. let tank set for a week or so to let it cycle.

Will that take care of everything? Where can i get that at. Only thing we have here for aquarium supplies is pet smart and walmart.
