I went to check out the new petco by my house tonight with the girlfriend and ended up getting 3 small peppered corys to put in my betta tank...along with some sand because the gravel would've damaged their barbels, and a silk plant just in case they needed to flee from him.
So far so good, my betta is a little curious and flared at them for a few minutes at first, but he seems to be adapting to them in the tank and is doing his own thing now. Every few minutes he goes over to them to check them out, but for the most part is leaving them alone.
