Ok, quick question:

I have a white film-like algae (atleast i think its algea) growing on one of my decorations in my tank. My 2 new honey flame gouramis love picking at it and eating it, almost to the point where they will pass on flake food to get to the white stuff.

Is this a problem? or is it acutally a good source of food for them?

(BTW: quick little tidbit - I was watching one of the gouramis swim around the tank, and he was upset that a cory had taken his hiding spot away from him.

So what did he do? Snuck up behind the cory, and used one of his little tentacle/fin things to touch the cory, thus making the cory flip out and swim away! Was the funniest thing i've ever seen one of my fish do.)

My Gold Gourami also likes to pick at algae too, mostly grassy hair algea, but he also likes eating flakes. However, his favorite food is Blood Worms. Maybe you could try varying his diet a little, he could be just tired of flakes. Try something different and see if brings his appetite back.
