I have been cleaning my gravel every time I do a PWC. Should I be doing this or just remove and replace water most of the time and vacuum gravel only occasionally?

I personally vacuum the gravel during a pwc. If your tank is less mature you may see a mini-cycle from heavy gravel vacuuming, but I have never witnessed one.

From what I understand a fair amount of BB can exist within your tanks gravel. What I do is vacuum one side well one week during a pwc and just skim over the other side. The following week I flip. If your tank is new I agree with Laser go lighter on the vacuuming for a bit maybe just skimming over and getting up the big stuff.

Thanks for the advice. Tank is recently cycled. Used filter media from from Friends tank to seed filter. I don't want to lose my BB and have to re-cycle.
