Which is best to have in a tank. I have gravel but I was thinking about doing something new and I wanted to do sand in the tank... So which is easier to take care of. Which one is nicer? And all that other stuff...

In my opinion sand because the waste doesnt sink down between the gravel, it sits on top

Okay bedtime I go to my LFS I'll get some sand.

If you don't want to waste a lot of money you can get pool filter sand at home depot, a bag of 50lb costs around $5

Three more advantages with having sand:
1. Algae can't grow below the top of the sand, unlike gravel, so the whatever bottom feeding fish you have will have it easy. Lol
2. Food that sinks stays on the top of the sand, so other fish will find it and eat it...
3. When you gravel vacuum the sand will get tumbled more, so more dirt is collected.

Okay I will get some sand. I don't like the look of gravel anyways..
