Gravel to sand?

I was wondering what steps to take to switch the gravel in my tank to sand I have chiclids and I don't want to mess up anything. Thank you ahead of time

hi i recently did this with both of my tanks it is fairly simple you will need two buckets one for you fish and one for your sand first drain out 60% of the water and put it into the fish bucket (add your heater and any airstones you have in the bucket) scoop out all the the gravel either throw it away or store it use the tube on your syphon and get the tiny pieces that you couldnt get out with your "scooper" or your hands place the cleaned sand in the tank add water let your sand settle (if necessary) then add your decorations accessories and then your fish hope that helped

what i meant was to dump out the water until you have your final full bucket to put your fish in
