Gravel to sand last Q

So I over hear that if you change your gravel to sand it might kick into a re cycle for the tank. Is that true? I am kinda scare to change it now.
Any help?

I did it and my fish are fine. Nothing has gone wrong and I love the tank even more. Also they are probably my healthiest fish.

Nah... As long as you have a well-seasoned filter, you should be fine.

The cycling happens in your filter, absolutely nothing will happen if you change over, "just do it".
