Currently I am using well water in my 55gallon aquarium. Using the API GH test I get around 34drops. I was looking at the python water changer. That would hook up to my soft water faucet which reads around 1/2drops. Will I have any issues switching over to soft water for my water changes?

I would suspect taking it slow would be best. I'd gradually increase the water changes to slowly mix water of the two.
Also depends what fish you have. If their ancestry is hard water range, that would be another reason to take it slow.
