Hard water?

I did water hardness testing, and it came back at 250ppm that indicated that it was kind of hard. Is there going to be a problem if I have my mollies and guppies in it? They have been in there for about 8 months. What about my apple snail? Would there be shell problems?
Ultimate question: can I lower it without chemicals?
