Hi guys! I finally got my tank set up fully cycled after some major headaches and now have my beautiful blue boy and a golden mystery snail. I was thinking of adding some harlequins in with him. I know they can be in comunity tanks but i dont wanna stress him out. It probably won't be for a while if i do add them. But would they be good tanks mates for him? I don't know a ton about them so i definitely need to do some research befire i get them if i do. But just looking for opinions and advice :). My tank is 30 gallons also. So he thinks he's currently swimmg in a lake compared to his dinky little cup ?

That is great news he has so much room!

The Harlequins should be okay with that sized tank, maybe 8 so they will be pretty happy.

Have you considered using a quarantine tank for the new fish?

Harlequins should be fine; I often see them with bettas. (With the usual caveat that it's always a crapshoot to see if the betta will get along with the new tankmates. Some are little serial killers)

And I agree with Autumnsky about quarantining first.
