Has Anyone Used "Eco Complete Planted Substrate"?

Just picked up 40lbs of this stuff today.
I wanted black substrate, and it's going to be planted, so it seemed like a smart pick...

The gravel doesn't look very large, which is kind of nice because at first I wanted black sand.

Anyone have experience with this stuff?
Good, Bad, Ugly?

It says that it contains "Live Water Purifying Bacteria" which I assume is kind of gimmicky, but really just a bonus I guess, if true.

I don't have experience with planted tanks, but I've heard that a lot of people really like it that do have planted tanks.

I use it in my discus tank. It's really great. Don't rinse it, just throw it in

Any PH effect? Bag says it might raise it temporarily.

I'm using it currently mixed with another substrate. But I have used it before alone and it didn't affect the pH at all. The plants grew fantastic and I love the black color.
