Hi there, I bought a plant several years ago which unsuspectingly was carrying snails on it, and they've been living with my algae eater ever since. I've never known what species they were so I was hoping someone on here would know. I'm not sure what to do with them once my fish eventually dies since I will be getting rid of the aquarium. I don't want to just flush the poor things down the toilet, so I was thinking of dropping them off at a nearby pond but I'd like to do research on the species first to ensure they don't negatively impact the local ecosystem.

Thanks ^~^

I am no expert, but to my untrained eye they look like ramshorn snails. Maybe? Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime on.

That is what I was thinking they might be after I looked at some pictures of common species.
