There are a school of balloon body tetras, some zebra danios, 3 corys, and a pair of dwarf gourami. My son desperately wants to put some creatures at the bottom of the tank. Are there some clawless crustaceans or other cool additions to the tank.

Pros and cons, as well as some suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

What sized tank and substrate? If it's sand and a big enough tank, get some kuhli loaches. I have them with my Cory cats and everyone gets along.

It is gravel substrate and 35 gallons. Any special plants or bamboo for the shrimp.

You can try any of the nano type shrimp out there, they're all pretty much the same. And no you don't need bamboo, it's not an aquatic plant, but definitely some hiding places or some other bushy type plant or moss. My red cherry shrimp love hanging out in my bacopa carolinia. You could also try some Amano shrimp or a bamboo shrimp if your tank is well established
