HELP!... please :)

I bought this fish at a little store called Koi in Edmonton (it is now closed down). I was told it was a Thai shark but I want to know what it actually is (I have been wondering for ten year...yep, he is that old ). Can you please help me??

I will take a pic of his face... its so funny..
He doesn't really look like a carp... maybe he is a cross breed with a mud carp?

A mud carp has very small scales where are my guy has large scales... like a prehistoric fish

looks like a carp
