When I bought my plants I got a little bonus. He was a cute littile guy just crawling around the tank. Now we have 4 big snails and a bunch of little ones. I really concerned that they're going to take over. Is there anyway to get rid of them?

I've read Clown Loaches take care of snail problems like a pro, however they can get pretty large and will be happiest if kept in schools, thus resulting in the necessity of a large tank.

To keep the snail population down, keep the excess nutrients to a minimum and do the weekly PWCs. If you want to throw the snails out, use the lettuce to bait them.

Lettuce, or any other green leafed thing/veggie.

Or, you could add some aquairum salt. Snails don't like them.

Or if you have the heart....you can smash them against the glass... :|

Definitley take care of the problem now...before it gets out of hand.

This feels like a stupid questions, but that's never stopped me before

How does the lettuce differ (in attracting the snails) from the plants in the tank?

I have a nice little growing population that is driving me nuts too.
