Is it possible for the current in a tank to be too high for the fish? I know for fish like bettas they dont like current but at the moment I'm cycling with a zebra Danio. I know they like strong currents anyway and playing near the pump flow but he seems to hide a lot. Mostly where the current is slowest. He seems to give a little flick of his tail and fall back a bit and then do it again. I have an internal fan filter mini. (Aquael).

I bought a waterlife liquid ammonia test and its showing very very low ammonia reading. About 0.2 or lower. This is about the 5th day he's been in there. I took out a decaying plant about day 2. I've been doing 20% water changes daily since day 2.

It is but its difficult to actually do. As long as the fish aren't getting flung around by the current its usually okay.

What is your filter / tank size?

Its an Aquael Pearl 6 gallon, and the filter is an Aquael fan-mini plus 4.2w

It seems to oxygenate the water well.
