On my 29 gallon tank hood it's starting to get like a white cloudy stuff on it. I was wondering what's a safe way to clean it off. I used just a rag and water which helped a little. Anyone know of a good way to clean it?

White vinegar either 5 or 7 percent acidity. Use a good clean sponge. The vinegar takes it off very well. I use it on mine when I get a little bit of algae film build up. Have used it on the white stuff too which is mineral deposits from evaporated water. The acid in the vinegar eats it up and makes it shine.

Buy a spray bottle and make up the mix. I use 50/50 mix. I always remove the hood, away from the tank. Spray it, leave it for an hour or two and them use some cloths soak in the mix to clean it. Use some cloths with clean water and wipe it down. Use some paper towels to dry it off. Sounds like a lot of work but it's not really....
