Hot magnum canister filter reviews

Ok, on Craigslist there is a 40g breeder that I want to buy but I know nothing about the filter, a hot magnum. What are your experiences with them are they good? The tank is a great deal 60$, but m low on space so I'm trying to buy the perfect thing. (I know perfect will never be but pretty darn close!)

I did not like my HOT 250 at all. The magnum does not hold much media compared to comparable canisters. I've owned several marineland products and none of them were in use for very long. the filter will probably do you just fine..... Especially because it's coming with the tank for $60. If later on you decide to upgrade, fine - it'll make a nice backup filter in case something happens. It's not like it can't get the job done - that's just my personal preference.

I've heard they're only really good for water polishing and flow...

I would take a 40br over a 29 all day long.

So much more flexibility than with a 29. Make an offer on it, maybe they will take lower.
