Looks like green algae bloom. Reduce lighting or of you don't have anything that needs lights. Keep them off and do some water changes. Have you tested phosphates?

A UV would definitely clear that up but you wanna figure out why it happened to begin with.

I had all lights off of it with a blanket for 4 days.

Still need to do water changes in that time. It doesn't just go away because a blanket is on the tank.

Cut the light back and wc's should clear it up.
