I moved my 30 gal tank last weekend. Everything is fine and the inhabitants are happy but I have a snail that has been in it's shell since then, like 5 days now. It's not sticking out at all, it's completely sucked in, so at first i didn't think it was dead. It's been a while and i'm a bit concerned. I took it out to look at it and it smelled bad, but i dunno if that was normal, never smelled it before. It also seems like the shell is becoming discolored.

Bad smell = dead snail. Trust me, it's way nasty. If you don't take it out now, it's going to start to rot, then you will have pieces of snail all over your tank. I've found out the hard way before.

Dead Snail

Sometimes the other fish will even start to eat the snail when it's dead... At least that's what My betta Did... (I hope he didn't eat him alive)
