How do I prepare my new 45 gallon for fish?

Remember to purchase api test kit... what are you using for your subtrate?

Well you should cycle it for a few days. For a filter I recommend an Aquaclear, Canister Filter, or a Fluval HOB. You could also buy some prime and a siphon for water changes.
