Exclamation How do i test my ammonia without a kit? Please help!

Hello,
One of my ghost shrimp is laying on its side and swimming sideways, I don't have an ammonia testing kit but I checked for everything else and it is all good. I have removed the ghost shrimp from my tank though. But is there any way that I could check for ammonia without the kit? PLEASE HELP

Fish stores will usually be able to test for you, some might even do it for free. But if you can get to the fish store, might as well get a test kit.

If in doubt, do a water change.
