I actually have 2 questions.

(1) How many German blue rams could I put in 20 gallon ALONE?

(2) How many GBR's could I put in a 20 gallon with other fish? And what kind of fish could I put with them?

Only one pair of rams in a 20

You could add some shrimp like Amano's but you'd need to make sure they were big enough to NOT fit in the GBR's mouths.

You can do a single ram or a pair, 4-6 Panda or dwarf/pygmy cory's (as they are small and better suited to that size tank). And a nice school of 10 neon, cardinal, or rummy nose tetras. Or instead of a school of tetras a school of Threadfin Rainbow fish would look really good also.

Platy's are fine for a 20 gal and would go with any fish that has been suggested they are quiet cute. I have 4 of them in my 20.
