How much food?

I was just wondering how much food to feed my fish? I have 12 neon tetras, 2 guppies, 2 black mollies, 1 balloon molly and 1 male siamese fighter. They have been in the tank since Saturday. We have Nutrafin Flake Food and on the back of the container it says feed as much as they can eat in 2 minutes, 2-3 times daily.

I know lots of you only feed your fish once every 2 days, and some are more frequent, so I don't know. For the first couple of days I added a few pinches and they were fine, it didn't go too quickly but they ate all of it none the less, I did this twice a day, one morning, one afternoon.

And now it seems that the stress relieving stuff etc has worn off and they have settled in and are racing about the place, and when I put the same amount in I did before, it's gone VERY quickly... so we have to put in quite a lot. However I don't want to starve them or over feed them.

How do you suggest I do this?

Fish don't need a whole lot of food to be satisfied. Their bellies aren't that big. They will continue to eat if you continue to feed them. IMO, more then twice a day is way too much.

I personally only feed my fish once a day and enough where they consume it all and nothing hits the bottom of the tank. I've got a bunch of piggies.

I think it's very hard to starve your fish and easier to overfeed them.
