I have a 55g long tank and I cut the glass canopy in half so half the lid is covering the front and then there is the Satellite Led + and then the little extra plastic piece in the back. So if they are leapers they'd have to go up and through a small gap about an inch or two on each side of the light to get out. Is the closed off enough to prevent escape? I can show pictures tomorrow.

It should be closed off enough. That being said I had 3 of them jump out of my tank over the course of a year or so. One of them my dog found before I found it.....

Crazy, I must have been lucky. I had 4 or 5 for years, with no lid, and never had one jump.

Perhaps that is the difference, mine were pretty well fully grown when I got them.

Check out this beast , 5plus years old. He's about 4". The newer ones I got are maybe 1.5" and their girth is dramatically smaller. They are more streamlined.
