How to clean with a fry?

I have a baby fry which has lived through the war zone, it accidentally got in the bag when I got 2 female swordtails a few weeks ago, and it's still living.

But my question is how can I do a clean with him in my tank? I dont want him to now die after surviving, I really need to do a gravel clean but I'm not sure how with a fry

You can put a sponge in the tube but that will limit how clean you can get gravel.

If it’s just the one you could net it while vacuuming. Or just keep your eye on it and make sure it doesn’t get near the hose.
