Lol I accidentally took the picture upside down somehowThat's amazing how all the sand is at the top of the tank. [emoji13]
Thanks for all the recommendations. I might try most of these and definitely upgrade my tank soon. Also my goldfish have tried to breed with my butterfly koi a few times before, both of my goldfish are male and the orange koi is female. ( Not 100% sure about the yellow one maybe female ) though no fry have shown up probably either eaten, or something else, wonder what the hybrid would look like.Improve your tank in what sense? Aesthetically or in general? Are you wondering if anything needs changing, or are you just looking for things to change?
I find myself looking for things to upgrade... I've got a bad case of the Aquarium-keeper-itis. Symptoms proceeded thusly:
1) Inherit a tank
2) Increase tank size
3) Upgrade filters to AquaClears (an improvement for me)
4) Change substrate: gravel to sand
5) Add live plants
6) Incessant testing of water chemistry w/ API master test kit
7) Get fancy biomedia: I use BioHome Ultimate
8) Add sponge pre-filters
9) Get pretty driftwood
10) Marimo moss balls are cool!!
11) "Best" water conditioners: Seachem Prime and Stability
12) Buy thermometers and start obsessing over temp
13) Get a fancy heater: check out Cobalt Aquatics Neo-Therm!
14) Start getting fancy with your fish food: consider live, frozen, or freeze dried
15) Consider perfecting pH… buy a pH meter for more accurate readings
16) Consider adjusting pH
17) Consider an algae eater for your tank
18) Get an algae eater… (e.g. shrimp and/or pleco) and learn the importance of quarantining the hard way…
19) Get a TDS meter and start thinking about total dissolved solids
20) Starch researching common illnesses and the best treatments
21) Order SeaChem ParaGuard to keep on hand
22) Consider breeding…
To be continued…
