1 oscar is fine in a 55gal BY ITS SELF.
I had a Jack Dempsey in a 55 with my Osacr and had to take it out because it picked on the Oscar.
You could put the goldfish in with the Oscar and he could have one big meal...just kidding

If you can swing it a 75 would be a great home for the Oscar but not a necessity.
