I wish I had my camera!

Work has been long and tough today. As I took a second to glance into my betta tank on my desk....I see the ghost shrimp eating his molting! I had notice this morning when I came in that he had molted. Now, as I am typing, he is chowing down! Gross and fascinating all at the same time! I had heard that they ate their moltings, that it was a good source of protein for them, but to see it happening is a lot different!

EW--like watching a cat give birth to kittens. Overall, the momma cat keeps things quite clean--but what a price to pay *YUCK*!

that is fascinating... I use to have a newt that would eat it's own skin. Weird stuff. That would have made for an awesome pic... That would have been a great photo of the month type pic... Maybe next time...
