For those of you who have used these to create a more natural environment: how do you maintain a tank in which IAL are used? As they disintegrate they make quite a mess! I'm starting to think that they are a bad idea with a sand substrate.
The kuhli loaches and bristlenose fry love them, but I'm less than impressed with my new tank looking like it is covered in detritus.
