Injured Mollie

I woke up this morning, and found what looks like a mortal wound to one of my mollies. Has anyone ever had this happen to one of their fish? Does it look like the result of fighting or running into something? Sorry for the poor photo quality, but it looks like a chuck of flesh protruding from its underbelly.

Fish was fine last night.

Unfortunately I can't see your picture. It is possible for it to be a fighting injury, but without an image and details about your tank and what other fish you have it's impossible to say for sure. Can you try to attach a picture again?

Its a 20 Gal with 3 mollies, 1 bristlenose pleco and 1 rainbow shark. It has quite a bit of plant life in it.

I've noticed recently one of the mollies tends to briefly chase the others, but its just in small spurts.

Also, this evening the wound seems to be healed.

Very strange.

No, wasn't a potty break. It literally looked he was crapping out his intestine. That would be the best way I could describe it.
