Interesting angelfish behavior

My black angelfish will keep the white one in the corner by the log and will chase the bala sharks away. It's quite interesting. I am not sure why the angelfish is doin that

Breeding? It sounds like one is defending the other

I would say it's breeding or the white one is already protecting eggs. And the black one is too.

What's interesting is that he leaves the pictus that stays in the log alone. What would the eggs look like?

The eggs would be small might blend in with substrate. Try google for egg pictures and info. And try seeing if u even have a male and a female.
