Is a UV Sterilizer be a good idea?

hello everyone, I have an 80 gallon tank with 3 fancy goldfish and plants. Lately, Ive been getting a lot of brown algae....its all over the plants. Should I purchase a UV sterilizer? Would this help? Is there a better suggestion? tia

I’ve found they only help a little unless getting green water. Reducing lighting will help ime. Any ideas what bought it on?
