is foggy water dangerous to fish?

My water got really foggy today.
My Ammonia is very high 4.0 and I am taking my 4 fish back tomorrow and work on cycling the tank.
Can I use the water clarifier until then?
Is the foggines bothering them at all?

It's probably just a bacteria bloom, nothing to worry about and it will go away on it's own. I wouldn't bother treating it with anything, the biggest concern is the ammonia level, but if you are taking them back then it sounds like you are dealing with that already.
